Bringing Freedom, Hope and Salvation

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptism them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (NIV)

This section of Scripture is known as the Great Commission, it is the foundation for evangelism and underpins our outreach and missions work in the advancing the Kingdom of heaven here on earth.

It's about making a Difference

How it all began...

As a little boy I grew up in Trinidad dreaming of one day becoming a pilot. Our house was a few miles away from the local airport and I still remember getting on my bike and riding over to watch aircraft take off and land.

As I grew up I searched for ways to make my dream a reality and eventually had the opportunity to work on Cruise ships. I met some amazing people and travelled to some beautiful places. Not only did I manage to save some money whilst I was there but I also met my wife Charlene, who is worth more than any money in the world! (She wrote that bit!)

We got married and had our son Miles. My mum said "Are you sure you want to call him Miles? With a name like that he could end up going really far away one day." Well we all know that Mum's are always right and I don't think that he could go any further than where we are about to go.

Finding Purpose...

After finally gaining my licence in 2013, I felt God prompting me to use it to make a real difference in the lives of others. With my wife's amazing support, our family applied to join the work of MAF -a Christian organisation that uses aviation to help transform the lives of some of the most remote and isolated people on earth. This year we will be travelling to one of those remote places (Arnhem Land) where we will be living with and working alongside the Aboriginal community.

Follow our journey...

Our first trip to will be from March till May this year. We then return to the UK to prepare for our 'Big Move' in October.

The initial visit will be a great time to find out more about MAF's work in Arnhem Land and see where we can make a real difference. On our return we would love to share our experiences of life in the Northern territory and give everyone an opportunity to journey with us.

Keep us in prayer...

For safe travel to the remote parts of Arnhem Land

For wisdom in understanding the needs of the Indigenous people

For healing and transformation in the lives of the communities

For the work of MAF around the world
